Welcome to Ravnica, the City of Guilds.
A sprawling world-city shaped by power, ambition, and the influence of ten mighty guilds, Ravnica is a place where every street, spire, and shadow seems claimed by someone. Yet for all their reach, even the guilds cannot see to every cracked cellar, missing courier, vermin nest, or whispered problem lurking just out of sight.

For tasks too small to command official attention, there are the general contracts.

These jobs are passed along to the guildless: those rejected by the guilds, those who have chosen to remain apart, and those newly arrived in the city, still searching for purpose among its endless districts. For some, these contracts are a way to earn a few coins. For others, they are the first step toward reputation, survival, or something greater.

General contracts are often posted on public billboards in taverns, marketplaces, and crowded squares, anywhere eyes are plentiful and opportunity can catch hold. Most are simple, practical things: clear out a dangerous pest nest, recover stolen goods, settle a local disturbance, or investigate some oddity no guild cares to waste resources on.

Complete the task, and there may be gold waiting for you. Perhaps something rarer. Perhaps something stranger.
